Bob Ault

Scott Joplin's "Easy Winners" was one of the many rags published 100 years ago. We celebrate our century of ragtime with Bob Ault on the big grand piano. Bob was a recent member of the Etcetera Stringband, who played for us in 1994. Like his cohorts, Bob has studied thousands of vintage recordings, and he includes a number of pieces by our local ragtime master, the late John W. "Blind" Boone. Among other instruments, Bob performs on piano, banjo and harp guitar, a rare instrument of the ragtime era. He is a ragtime composer, a church organist and has entertained everywhere from Carnegie Hall to Japan. He has served on the board of directors of the Scott Joplin Foundation in Sedalia, Mo.
