Discovery String Band

Festival organizers, Cathy Barton, Dave Para and Bob Dyer, welcome fiddler and guitarist Kelly Werts to the Discovery String Band. Kelly's interest in the musical traditions and cultural history of his native Kansas compliment his cohorts' interest in local history. Combined, the four represent decades of performing in communities and schools throughout the region. For the past year, they have focused on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. On these dates 200 years ago The Corps of Discovery was two weeks into the return from the Pacific and weather-bound by wind at a camp on the Columbia River.
